Red Blood Cell Motion & Deformation

A red blood cell (RBC) motion and deformation are greatly affected by mechanical condition of the cell that can be model by the viscoelastic outer membrane and the inner viscous fluid. In this study, effects of mechanical properties and a natural state of the RBC on the RBC motion/deformation under a simple shear flow are investigated by means of a computer simulation using a particle method.
